Heads up!

When I write these Blog entries I usually start by sifting through older images we have on file. Today I found these, heads of Spiderman, Doctor Doom and Venom. These were made with some sort of suction cup base so that you could mount the head of your favorite Marvel Comics personality on your skateboard, or snow board or computer.. whatever you like.

Here are the heads of Batman and three of his foes- Two Face, The Riddler and The Joker. These were modeled from the comic book style guide so they are more cartoon than real.
We sculpted these items over a pre existing form so that the actual products could cover a specific mechanism. Sometimes when sculpting for product considerations have to be made to accommodate manufacture.
Our client was thrilled and we had the double pleasure of working with our friends at Warner Brothers and DC Comics to get these quickly approved.

This will one day be SPIDERMAN!

What you see is a golden brown wax body

that we posed in our computer and

printed out with our 3d printer.

The reddish brown on the face area and hands

is clay being built up,

this sculpture is in the early early stages-

the roughing out part part of the process really.

Ittsy Bittsy Spiderman!

This Tiny sculpture was for a candy company.

I believe this figure was less than an inch high

and required the shop microscope

to aid in achieving the detail.

Our sculptors are masters

at achieving great detail

no matter how small a figure may be.

Mighty Marvel Mini's!

This is a set of Marvel super heros with oversized Heads

that were sold through capsule toy machines.

Marvel is a great organization to work with.
